Cougar Wedding Drum

Boar!
Drum
I just finished this commission for a wedding drum. This one was a real pleasure to work on, it reminded me how much I adore working on drums and really want to do more of them. I had the challenge to work with 'playful cougar' and 'red cedar tree' to represent the two parties involved. This drum is 12" in diameter, deer hide on a pine frame. It has a rich, wonderful tone.

Drum Here's the image from the front.
Drum A shot of the back of the drum to show the detailing. These hand drums are really a pleasure to play - they are lightweight and comfortable to hold.

Very pretty. I like the back. :)

So I've had a change of plans for this weekend and I won't be able to come hang out. The next good time would be maybe the first weekend of March? Sorry, chickadee. :(

It's interesting to see how you make them, though if I had one, I'd be a bit scared of playing it, thinking that I could damage such beautiful work.
