Totem Owls

Zen


A wise old owl sat in an oak
and the more he sat, the less he spoke,
and the less he spoke, the more he heard,
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

Barn owl! I am really proud of how this one turned out.

Eagle owl.

This is the big painting I've been working on for the last months. I wanted to work bigger (this was going to be 24x36" but I had to downsize it to 15"x20" due to time constraints. I wanted to see how far I could push myself and try a few new painting techniques. I think I can get even more detailed than this and I learned a *lot* with this piece.
Can I count it for 4 of the 100 birds? ;) Please?

Original and prints are for sale! I'll most likely be framing this and bringing it along with me to MFF.
I love owls dearly. Barred owl is a totem of mine, and I know I still have many lessons to learn from them all.

AND! Mbala got his employment authorization card renewal finally! So now he can drive and work again. Happy happy happy.

I recognized straight away that this is a larger painting! You can really see the detail you put to it. I especially love the background; it's pretty simple, yet it's spattery enough to be exciting to look at! [I have a thing with spatters, kek.]

Woots to you for getting that barn owl at a tricky angle. They're some of my favorite owls to draw, but MAN their details are subtle! Wonderful piece!
