Kerrygold reserve cheddar (imported from Ireland - aged 2 years) is SO good. http://www.kerrygold.com/usa/product_cheddar.html

I've been eyeing the black label cheese at the store for a long time and since Mbala and I have decided to do more cheese-and-cracker type european breakfasts, I bought it. It's amazingly delicious! I've had some much more expensive fancy cheddars that haven't tasted half as good.

Oh, I've had that, our Whole Foods carries it. It is indeed nomful!

I really wish we had a whole foods in town! We have a little co-op that has bulk organic goods but their dairy section is tiny and very overpriced. x.x

Yay for cheese!
Let me recommend something for the Lactose Intolerant folk out there like myself: Lappi! A Finish cheese, soft and full of love... and NOT full of lactose!:

Oooh, I love cheese!

My current favorite is Tillamook Vintage white, extra sharp cheddar cheese. Have you had it?

I love it with a good pino grigio. It’s hard to keep myself from eating the whole loaf!

Cheese :)

Having grown up in Switzerland, I still love cheese. It's good stuff.
If I had to pick one cheese... Aged Gruyere. The real thing.
Also love Tomme Vaudois, Vacherin, Raclette cheese and other lovelies like those. Yum.

That is so neat you grew up in Switzerland! How long were you out there?
I am a really new cheese aficionado - I grew up with typical american cheeses am being slowly introduced to more exotic things. I have found that some of the flavored goudas are my favorite I've had so far. I will take a note of those you recommended and keep an eye out for them! I might have to be more adventurous with my cheese tasting next time I'm in Europe, as well. :) Mbala said we should fly out to France for the cheese and wine - I'm pretty tempted to make that happen!

Sounds like a great idea! Make a side trip into Switzerland, it's right next door, AND they have excellent cheese and quite respectable wine (on the latter, just nowhere near as much as France, and most is never exported). :D
Cheese and real bread are 2 of the things to take to a desert island.
Forgot to add I lived there from when I was about 1.5 years old to when I was 22 and moved here.

Kerry gold makes some of THE, and i mean THE best cheese that you can find easily in stores!!!

My absolute favorite, no matter what is the Dubliner

Oh my delicious. Just like the description says, its sweet and sharp but creamy and nutty..... So. delish. It has little bits of sweet crunchy, i cant really explain it, but oh my god, i DIE for this stuff!!!

I will keep my eye out for that one, I've just had their cheddar but I'm incredibly impressed with the brand from that!
