Crash Course London

As a step back from everything else for a moment, I thought I would share some more pictures from our recent trip to Europe - this time from London.

Oliver Cromwell and a fantastic lion.

Big Ben clock tower!

We had only a day to stay in London, so we went on a wonderful, fast-paced tour of the city center. We wrapped up the night at the National Theatre seeing Warhorse, which was spectacular.

Graciously hosted by a local friend (who nicely put up with my wanton tourism and zillions of photos), I can’t wait to go back and spend more time in this delightful city.

See? Shameless tourist.

Grand entrance to the houses of parliament. The architecture in Europe just astounds me. There is nothing like these wonders in the U.S. I love our wide open spaces, the natural majesty, I love the U.S. - but Europe has such an incredible history to it that you can't begin to compare.

Horse guard!

Awesome porcine gargoyle.

What a face!

Remembrance garden outside of Westminster Abbey.

It is all the incredible details like these that really make you appreciate the scope of the design, craftsmanship and labor that went into every thing there.

Gulls strutting around trafalgar square.

More entertaining gull sass.

Trafalgar square fountain.

Unicorns everywhere for Mbala.

Trafalgar lion. So cool!

Even the phone booths are cooler in England.

More astounding details!

I am really glad we had the chance to check out Harrods - I am not much of a shopper but I grew up hearing about the place and it did not dissapoint. What a crazy, over the top example of luxury and excess!

That is it for now - many thanks to silverfoxwolf for his fantastic hospitality - I hope that we can soon return the favor and also to visit again and spend more time. :)

So awesome! I remember you talking about going to see Warhorse so I'm glad you were able to check it out. Great photos!

I definitely approve of all the lions!
