Bees!

I've been keeping my bee blog elsewhere, and working on updating it, so I'll link that here: http://ofbees.com/

Bunch of Bees

I'm working on getting it up to date so will be posting there more frequently now. :) I don't want to repeat things here as well so I might just post a photo/link now and again pointing to the site.
Both our colonies survived the winter looking good so far - which is a super relief! The state has been reporting 65% colony losses this year.

I'm glad to see some bees aren't dying off.

This definitely got me more interested too!
I really love bees, it's amazing what they do for nature, and reading how your neighborhood is like "Not in mybackyard!" blows my mind!

When I found a bee in my little flowerbeds, I was SO happy!
I felt I could help bees and the environment somehow ^^

Do u perhaps have a website where I can read more facts about bees?
I don't feel like I know a lot about 'em and I'd like to read some info about them ^^

My friend in MN who keeps four hives reports that all four died early on, as there was plenty of honey left in the hives when they were opened recently. She does not know why, as there were no signs of disease.

65%! That's simply appalling! I do so hope your hives can stay away from whatever it is that's calling this catastrophe.
